The Staff Selection Commission has officially released the recruitment notification for Junior Engineer positions across various departments of the Government of India on March 28, 2024. Prospective candidates can submit their applications until April 18, 2024.

SSC JE 2024 Vacancy Details:

The Staff Selection Commission has officially announced the number of vacancies for the Junior Engineer position. There are a total of 968 vacancies available for Junior Engineers across various departments of the Government of India.

SSC JE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Junior Engineer job online, you need to have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university. Also, your age should be between 18 to 30 or 32 years, depending on the job requirements.

SSC JE 2024 Exam Date

The Staff Selection Commission will officially announce the exam date for the Junior Engineer position. It is expected to be conducted from June 4th, 2024, to June 6th, 2024, in Computer Based Test (CBT) Paper I mode, with a duration of 120 minutes.

SSC JE 2024 Application Fee

  • To apply online for the Junior Engineer position, there’s an application fee of ₹100.
  • Payment can be made using any preferred payment method.

SSC JE 2024 Selection Process

The selection process for Junior Engineers in government departments consists of two main stages:

Paper I Exam:

  • This exam covers topics such as General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering (Civil & Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical).
  • It includes a total of 200 questions.
  • Maximum marks achievable are 200.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
  • There is a penalty of deducting ¼ mark for each incorrect answer.

Paper II Exam:

  • This exam focuses solely on General Engineering (Civil & Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical).
  • It comprises 100 questions.
  • Maximum marks attainable are 300.
  • The exam lasts for 2 hours.
  • There is a penalty of deducting 1 mark for each wrong answer.

Candidates who pass Paper I proceed to Paper II. Final selection depends on their performance in both exams.
